Irish Cultural Pavilion Art Exhibit

         Guidelines for Irish Fair

The Great American Irish Foundation wishes to develop for the Great American Irish Fair, an Art Exhibition to promote the efforts of Irish, Irish-American and American Artists whose work include an Irish theme. All Artists are invited to participate in the gallery display.

Since we are aware that many of the artists who will participate in this exhibition make their living at art and craft shows by selling high volume prints and other artifacts that are produced on a mass scale, we therefore want to make a distinction between this type of artists (we call them Producing Artists) and the Artist who is not engaged in high volume sales, but rather engaged principally in exhibiting their art work; selling nothing other than their own originals or duplicates of these originals

(to be referred to as Exhibiting Artists).

All Artist’s participating in the Art Exhibition are deemed Producing Artist unless otherwise qualified as Exhibiting Artist by the Irish Fair Foundation.

Both the Producing Artist and the Exhibiting Artist will take part in the Art Exhibition. Producing artist will be considered a vendor and will be bound by the rules, regulations and fees set forth by the Irish Fair Foundation for that of a vendor. The Exhibiting Artist will be charged a 10% fee (Ten Per Cent) taken from their total sales and to be paid to the Irish Fair Foundation in lieu of any upfront fee.

 1. The Exhibiting Artist will be required, as well as the Producing Artist to supply his own tables, chairs, easels, etc.

Any tents to be used must NOT be flat topped. Artists must comply with the Decoration and Dress Rules.

 2. The Producing Artist (Vendor) also, will have a Vendor Booth away from the Art Exhibition and it will be at the Vendor Booth that high volume sales will take place. Business cards and directions to the Artist’s booth may be placed in the gallery by the Artist’s work.

 3. The Exhibiting Artists will do business only with the gallery.

 4. All Artists will be required to exhibit no less than 2 (two) pieces of art in the gallery with a maximum number of 12 (twelve) works being displayed on easels at one time.

This letter/ guideline is to also serve as an initial outreach to those Irish, Irish-American and non-Irish Artists who may be interested in participating in this exhibition.

Any Artist interested in participating, please mail in the enclosed application form. Please specify the type of Artist for which you qualify and in addition, send a small portfolio describing your work including pictures to:

Presented by the Orange County GAA

The GAA has over 2,500 clubs in Ireland alone. The playing of Gaelic Games is based on the GAA Club, and each of the 32 Counties in Ireland have their own Club competitions, culminating in County Winners in championship and league. Club units outside of Ireland have their own league and championship competitions with the format dictated by the number of players and clubs available.

Clubs are generally based in a specific geographic area (usually a parish), and draw their players from that area. In certain cases, e.g. universities, the club will represent an organisation or institution and will draw their players from the members of that organisation.

Clubs will field one or more teams at various levels, and will play in their county's leagues, cups and championships. Most clubs will have both hurling and football teams, but some clubs will concentrate exclusively on one or other of the two Gaelic Games.

The winner of the County Championship will go forward to represent that county in the Provincial Club championship, and should they win that, to the latter stages of the All-Ireland Club Championship, the finals of
which are played in Croke Park on St Patrick's Day (17th March).
